Delete the temp files

Over time these piled up files can defragment the data in the drives and cause computer slowdown. Hence computer freezing, delete the temp files as long as they’re not locked for use. Also, run storage sense to clean up some disk space as well that probably help fix the problem.
- On your keyboard, press the Windows logo key and R
- Then type temp and click on ok, this will open the temporary storage folder,
- Use keyboard shortcut Ctrl and A at the same time to select all files and folders inside the folder,
- Then click Del to delete all the temporary files.
Remove problematic software
Certain software can cause a random freeze on Windows 10. - Open Settings App and go to System.

Run the DISM Tool

- Click on ‘Start’ Enter ‘Command prompt’ in the Search box.
- In the list of results, swipe down on or right-click Command prompt, and then tap or click ‘Run as administrator’.
- In the Administrator: Command Prompt window, type the following commands. Press the Enter key after each command:
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
The tool might take 15-20 minutes to finish running, so please do not cancel it.
To close the Administrator: Command Prompt window, type Exit, and then press Enter.
Reset virtual memory

- Right-click “This PC” and choose “Properties”.
- Then select “Advanced system settings” from the left panel.

- Go to “Advanced” tab again and choose “Change…” under the Virtual memory section.
- Here Ensure the “Automatically manage paging file size for all drives” is checked.
Disable Fast Startup
Here another solution, few users suggested disabling the fast startup feature help them fix system crash or computer freezes at startup problem running windows 10.
- Press Windows + R, type powercfg.cpl and click “OK
- Click on “Choose what the power button does” in the left pane of the window.
- Next Click on “Change settings that are currently unavailable”.
- Here Uncheck the checkbox beside “Turn on Fast Startup (recommended)” to disable it. Finally, click on “Save changes”.
Install .NET Framework 3.5
After upgrade to Windows 10 if your computer keeps freezing and crashing This issues can be fixed by installing various C++ Redistributable Packages and .NET Framework 3.5. Also, open command prompt as administrator type netsh winsock reset and hit the enter key.
