Snipping Tool Modes


When you open Snipping tool you find the first option now click on it to take a new screenshot. Before click on it first understand other Tools Such as Mode click it, There are four different modes

Free-form snip: It lets you draw any random shape on the screen and captures the screen in the same shape.


Rectangular Snip: This allows you to take a rectangular snip, created around by dragging the mouse over any area.


Windows Snip: This options lets you take a full screenshot of any object you have opened like any browser, dialog box, any file explorer windows, etc.


Full-Screen Snip: Upon selecting this option, as soon as you click New, it’ll take the screenshot of the whole screen and present it to you for further editing.


Delay: From delay options, you can set the Delay time. Means for ex you set delay time 5 sec and click on new. The snipping tool allows you to take the screenshot after 5 sec.


Options: And from the options, you can change the various settings such as Hide instructions text, enable option always copy snips to the clipboard, prompt to save snips before close the Snipping tool, etc.

How To Take Screen Shot using Snipping Tool


To Take a screenshot using Snipping tool first open it, Set the preferred mode and click on new. This will blower the entire screen and allow you to select the Area you want to capture as shown below the image.

Annotate a snip: After you capture a snip, you can write or draw on or around it by selecting the Pen or Highlighter buttons. Select Eraser to remove the lines you’ve drawn.


Save a snip: After you capture a snip, and make the changes select the Save Snip button.

In the Save As box, type a file name, location, and type, and then select Save.


Share a snip: After you capture a snip, Also you can share the snip by select the arrow next to the Send Snip button, and then select an option from the list.
